The ministry’s work
The Salvation Army serves Metro Atlanta through homelessness services, hunger relief, and emergency financial assistance. Its Christ-centered mission combines sharing the Gospel with meeting human needs without discrimination.
The Salvation Army opened the expanded Atlanta Center of Hope on January 21, 2026. Completed in November 2025, the project increased capacity from 321 to 437 beds and added an Education and Workforce Development Center. Providence contributed to the expansion, supporting shelter alongside a path toward greater stability.
Classrooms and a computer lab support education and workforce development. In March 2026, The Salvation Army reported that veterans had begun moving into the expanded living space.
